Swithing on the christmas lights 2016

Clondegads Gary Brennan the Clare football captain was on hand to turn on the Christmas lights in the fair green in 2015. And in 2016 we were blessed with our first female celebrity sports star to make the big switch on, local Clare footballer Clare Hester who followed in the footsteps of Gary, Tony Kelly and Davy Fitz in recent years. The parents association had teamed up with the Grupai ceoil to provide tea and biscuits in the hall while the music session continued. "Click me"below for pics of the event. button

 

 

Used clothing collection

Ballynacally Parents Association Fundraiser: Clothes Collection for Ballynacally N.S. to raise funds for the school yard. All worn, no longer required clothing, footwear, handbags, hats, scarves, bed linen, duvet covers, pillow cases, but NO duvets or pillows. Curtains & towels. No books please. Bags can be left into the school or preferably to the Community Centre 9.30 – 3.30 Mon. – Fri. Please support.

Switched on for Christmas

Ballynacally Parents Association have teamed up with the local Grupai Cheoil  for this years Christmas tree lighting ceremony. There will be a group session in the hall led by Carmel O’Dea this Sunday 7th from 6 to 7pm and then all will move out to the fair green for the lighting ceremony. This year the lights will be switched on by a local representative. The session will then resume in the hall until 8pm with refreshments afterwards. There will be no entrance charge for this session and a raffle will be held on the night. All are welcome to community event to celebrate the start of the Christmas season.

 

 

Mobile Planetarium

The mobile planetarium was erected in the community centre and class by class the childen were invited in to the dome to view a realistic view of the night sky and a closer look into our solar system. Have a look at the brochure here.....

 

 

St. Patricks Cake sale

Our annual cake sale went ahead as usual after mass on St. Patricks day. A Mile buiochas to anyone who helped, made a donation, bought or brought cakes, tarts, homemade bread etc, your generosity allows us to organise events for our school children. €368 was raised on the day all of which will be used directly for the children. Chrstmas Tree lighting

This year our special guest turning on the Christmas lights was our all Ireland winning manager Davy Fitzgerald. Also we had our usual supply of hot chocolate to warm us with mulled wine and home baking and some festive music to get us in the mood for christmas, not to mention our local carol singers.... A huge thanks to Davy for doing this for us with his hectic schedule of events since the big win........ Davy wished everyone happiness and health and thanked the crowd for their support ..... School concert

Well done to all the school children and their teachers for the great school concert in the hall recently with some great acting and it was a very entertaining evening. See some images captured by local man Eamon Murphy here

Halloween

Hallowe'en party for all National school children on Friday 25th went very well, feedback from the kids was they enjoyed it, have a look at our gallery HERE.......


Anti-Bullying Programme
New Anti Bullying Training programme was delivered to parents of National and Secondary school children in Ballyea School hall recently, see the associated leaflet on bullying here


Our Ethos

Our ethos as a group is to work with a spirit of respect and courtesy, and help in the strive for excellence in all areas of school life while promoting a sense of wonder and gratitude in our children.

The purpose of this site is to provide the Parents of Ballynacally National school children with information relevant to their children's education. It also provides a mechanism for Parents to give feedback, make comments or have concerns discussed.
Finally, Parents can have a look at the "about us" page and see the work your Parents association carries out. The opportunity to get involved with the team will always be welcomed.

Our Aims

We work in partnership with the Principal, Board of Management and the whole school community for the benefit of the children in the school.
